Make An Easter Tree ...
Make An Easter Tree ...
It's fun to decorate your house for holidays. Decorating an Easter tree is a festive holiday custom that traces its roots back to Germany. Tree branches were placed in a vase hung with brightly colored eggs. Today many homes hang painted or plastic Easter eggs and other decorations on real trees in their yards to add a colorful touch and a festive spirit to the neighborhood. You can bring the tradition indoors by creating a unique display for your decorated eggs and other tiny ornaments. Use a vase, bucket, flower pot or a garden watering can as a base. Another good choice for a base, depending on the size of your tree branches, is an old coffee can spray painted white. Fill the base container with floral foam, and maybe a few rocks to weight the container. Then top with Easter grass and insert your branches. You will need to find a fallen tree branch or two with several little attached branches. Or you may be able to cut a branch from a hedge. You can spray paint your branches or leave them natural. Trim your Easter tree with decorations you've made or purchased. I collected the decorations for this little tree displayed at my daughter's house many years ago. She just found the colorful circle chains on Etsy.
