Bluebells!

The blue bell is the sweetest flower
That waves in summer air;
Its blossoms have the mightiest power
To soothe my spirit's care.

~Emily Jane Brontë

The Virginia Bluebell (Mertensia virginica; also Virginia Cowslip, Lungwort Oysterleaf, Roanoke Bells) is a spring plant with bell-shaped sky-blue flowers opening from pink buds. These are blooming in my daughter's garden.

  1. Bluebells always seem so filled with memory. We used to walk in the bluebell woods in spring.
