For Valentime or Anytime ...

My mom made these yummy fudge hearts for Valentine's Day this year. Such a simple idea, but so delicious! She tucked them in little bags and tied them up with bright red ribbons. Mom used the Original Fantasy Fudge Recipe from the Kraft Marshmallow Cream jar. There have been changes in the recipe over the years, but the recipe she uses is the original one and she says it's foolproof. The fudge turns out soft and creamy every time and tastes fabulous. Many fudge recipes turn out dry and crumbly, but Fantasy Fudge just melts in your mouth!

Fantasy Fudge
Ingredients:
3 cups sugar

3/4 cup margarine
 (not butter)
2/3 cup evaporated milk

1 12-oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 7-oz. jar Kraft Marshmallow creme

1 cup chopped nuts
 (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:

Combine sugar, margarine and milk in heavy 2-1/2 quart saucepan; bring to full rolling bail, stirring constantly. Continue boiling 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring. This scorches easily so keep stirring. Remove from heat, stir in chocolate chips till melted. Add marshmallow creme, nuts & vanilla and beat till blended. Pour into well-greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Let cool and cut into 1-inch squares.

 Makes 3 pounds.
Note: Mom put the fudge in little heart-shaped tins that belonged to her mother. She put plastic wrap inside the tins first so the cooled fudge would be easy to get out.
