A Grand Old Song

A Grand Old Flag and a Grand Old Day!
Independence Day honors the birthday of the United States of America and the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. I've always loved the Fourth of July! It's a day of picnics and patriotic parades, a night of concerts and fireworks, and a reason to fly the American flag. I love the neighborhood kiddie parades and the family barbecues and wearing red, white and blue. I'm proud and grateful to be an American citizen! How about a little sing-along with me, in honor of this grand holiday!

YOU'RE A GRAND OLD FLAG
Music and lyrics by George M. Cohan

(Simple Version)
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.

Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
